Want to help shape the future of transport in Auckland? Now is your chance to have your say on the major transport plan for the future of our city! The draft Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP) is open for public feedback from today, and we’re urging Aucklanders to have their say! This major plan sets out which projects that AT, along with NZTA Waka Kotahi and KiwiRail are seeking to fund from the National Land Transport Fund. Find out more and have your say! https://lnkd.in/gy3Cjq8e

We recently spent the day with local legend Graham Tipene—the ringatoi (artist) behind some mahi toi (Māori art) in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). Together with our partners at Auckland Transport, Graham wants to inspire everyone to spend less time looking down at their screens and more time looking up at living and breathing Māori stories. Auckland Transport is on a mission to increase the artistic expression of Māori culture in Tāmaki Makaurau. Urban List Project team: Rachel Duignan, Jessica Suo, Daniel Daperis, Kylie O'Connell, Emma Bishop and Jessica Best👏 Links to where to find these pieces are in the comments.

Yesterday Cr Richard Hills, Chair of Auckland Council’s Planning, Environment and Parks Committee, came to see our electric ferries being built at McMullen & Wing – partially funded by the Council’s Climate Action Transport Targeted Rate (CATTR).   He spoke with AT Low Emission Ferry Programme Director Nathan Cammock and EV Maritime Chief Executive Michael Eaglen on their progress, with the ferries due to be out on the water later next year. Auckland Transport is focused on delivering a transport system that reduces emissions, is resilient to the impacts of climate change and minimises impacts on the environment.

We’re pleased to announce the first official use of NZSL on the Tāmaki Makaurau public transport network! This historic moment is pivotal for the Deaf community, who will now see their visual language alongside other communications. NZSL shares official language status with te reo Māori in Aotearoa. On Monday 6 May, the first pilot videos went live in Waitematā/Britomart station. These display basic safety messages typically communicated via station sound systems or signage. If you pass through the station, take a moment to check out the big screens. Following consultation with the Deaf community, a second screen will be installed in the Downtown Ferry Terminal, and on some of the Fullers ferry fleet! If you would like to feedback on how we can improve this service please contact us at AccessibilityMetroServices@at.govt.nz  or phone 09 366 6400 via NZ Relay New Zealand Relay Services www.nzrelay.co.nz

Fareshare gives employers the ability to offer subsidised public transport to their staff as an employee benefit that is exempt from fringe benefit tax. Once Fareshare is loaded onto employees AT HOP cards passengers are charged a reduced fare on eligible journeys, with the employer paying the difference. We’re open to new sign-ups, so get in touch if you’re interested by emailing fareshare@at.govt.nz    We had a super fun Activation Session at the GoSee office, helping staff re-register to the new Fareshare platform. GoSee has been trialling the programme from the start and have just increased their subsidy from 25% to an exciting 50%! Here’s what their people had to say: “I am more inclined to use public transport now, I save more money getting the bus than driving my car into work.”   “Registering to Fareshare was simple, it took less than five minutes to verify and link my card, and the discount applied the same day.”   “The discount is great, it makes getting to work much more affordable.”   Find out more at at.govt.nz/fareshare
