Kia ora and welcome to the latest update on the Eastern Busway project.

Providing a new home for timber, carpet, insulation and more

Vacant properties along Ti Rakau Drive and William Roberts Road are being prepared for removal to create space for the busway and Reeves Road Flyover.

Many items from the houses have been given a new purpose in the community in keeping with our focus on sustainability. Fence palings, floorboards, windows, sinks, ovens, carpet, insulation, plants and bricks are being reused instead of going to landfill.

Image: Fencing and plants have been donated to the community and used to build a wall planter on Tamaki Drive as part of a Gift-the-Garden project.

Your feedback on intersections, connections and parks

In July and August this year we held 11 project information days in Pakuranga to share the updated design and construction plan of the busway between Pakuranga Town Centre and Ti Rakau Drive Bridge. It was valuable for us to hear your suggestions and to answer your questions.

Based on the feedback we received, we’re reconsidering the design of intersections, cycling connections, and footpaths, including the Edgewater Drive intersection and a right turn onto Ti Rakau Drive. We are also working with Auckland Council Parks to plan an upgraded playground in Ti Rakau Park.
