Busway Update

Kia ora and welcome to our March update.

Part of Reeves Road in Pakūranga closes on 18 March

From Monday 18 March a section of Reeves Road in Pakūranga will close for two years while the flyover is built overhead. The closure will be in place from Tī Rākau Drive to the William Roberts Road intersection.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes such as Gossamer Drive, Pakūranga Road, or the new William Roberts Road link shown in the map below. Access to businesses in Pakūranga town centre will be available from Pakūranga Road, Tī Rākau Drive, and the lane opposite Cortina Place.

Pakūranga’s new connection

The flyover above Reeves Road is a significant aspect of the Eastern Busway project. It’s intended to streamline travel and ease traffic congestion in Pakūranga when completed. While construction takes place, some adjustments to travel routes are inevitable and clear signage will be provided along affected roads.

Minister of Transport visits the project

Expect delays during the upcoming long weekend

Weekend work from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April (Easter) at the intersection of the South Eastern Highway and Tī Rākau Drive will mean that drivers should expect delays and allow extra time for journeys. Temporary lane alterations, detours, and speed restrictions will be in place. Plan your route to avoid delays.
