Change gears and explore our cycling history at MOTAT
|
|
Auckland Transport is proud to support a new exhibition at MOTAT. Changing Gear explores the local history of cycling, its growing place in the future of our cities and biking innovations from the high tech to the quirky. For 200 years, we have adapted the bicycle to suit our needs and in turn it has helped shape the world around us. Exciting interactives include a chance to play digital dress ups, experience the thrill of riding a BMX or mountain bike and creating a city that supports people on bikes.
Normal MOTAT admission fees apply.

Ask Allen

Clipless pedals allow the bike rider’s shoes to attach to their pedals using cleats. They can be a little intimidating and take a bit of getting used to. However, once you’ve got used to them, clipless pedals can offer some great advantages.
They allow your pedal stroke to become more circular. This improves efficiency and allows you to use more muscle groups including your calves, hamstrings and glutes, instead of just relying on the quadriceps. This can also help improve a rider’s speed and balance, which means you can ride further and faster with less effort.
