Riverhills Park

Sustainability and football goals have been kicked in Riverhills Park in East Auckland. The park’s management has worked with the Eastern Busway Alliance and Auckland Council to improve the park with a brand new football pitch. Fencible United’s U14 Girls’ team enjoyed testing it out recently.

The pitch isn’t your average turf – it’s the first of its kind in NZ and uses eco-friendly materials like bio-based fibres, recycled foam, sustainable wood and yarn that is a leftover from the sugar cane industry. The pitch has gone through FIFA testing and is on track to get its FIFA certification soon.

AT is delighted to be building community facilities as part of the Eastern Busway project alongside our alliance partners; Fletcher, ACCIONA, AECOM and Jacobs.

Our thanks to you

A huge thank you to everyone for your patience and bearing with the traffic queues when part of Reeves Road closed last month. The project team has been making adjustments to help ensure travel times for the community are regular again.

We’re working sustainably with trees that have been removed from Reeves Road. The native species will be carved by mana whenua and other species will be mulched and kept on site to support new planting.

The flyover is a significant aspect of the Eastern Busway project and will be a game changer for easing congestion in Pakūranga when it’s complete.

Huntington Park Neighbours’ Day in March

In the community

The project team attended the Huntington Park Neighbours’ Day in March and appreciated the chance to chat with locals at the afternoon barbeque. We hosted a community barbeque in Pakūranga’s Palm Ave earlier in the month with a great turnout of nearby residents.
