Kia ora,

The Government has announced that Auckland will move to Alert Level 2 at 6am on Sunday 7 March.

Things to remember when moving around Auckland

Just as you have been doing, please remember to stay home and avoid traveling if you are feeling unwell. When you look after yourself, you look after those around you too.

If you are heading out and about, please continue to scan the Ministry of Health’s NZ COVID Tracer app QR code, to assist with contact tracing should it be needed.

As always, the safety of our staff and customers is our top priority. All public transport services are being cleaned regularly and thoroughly. We are also continuing with spot checking and antimicrobial cleaning on all our services and have set up hand sanitiser stations at many locations for you to use.

What this means for public transport

Following the Ministry of Health Guidelines, it remains mandatory to use a face covering while on-board public transport if you are over the age of 12. It is recommended that you maintain physical distancing from people you don’t know while on public transport.

  • Bus, train and ferry timetables will return to normal from Monday.
  • You can use the front door to get on board a bus, tagging on and off using your AT HOP card.
  • Cash payments will not be accepted during Alert Level 2. Don’t have an AT HOP card? Click here to purchase one online.
  • Have you registered your AT HOP card? The next time you tag on or off a bus, train or ferry listen for a triple-beep. Hearing a triple-beep means your AT HOP card is not registered. It’s easy to register, just click here.

The benefits of using the AT Mobile app

We believe, the more information, the better. If you haven’t already, download our AT Mobile app so you can receive notifications about bus, train and ferry delays, changes and disruptions. You can also use the AT Mobile app to check out live departure and arrival information for buses and trains.

Interested in cycling or walking? AT Mobile now gives you directions that prioritise cycle-friendly routes using cycleways, shared paths and quieter streets. It’s now easier than ever to get active and explore your neighbourhood.

This is a service message to all registered AT HOP cardholders. Please note, this will not affect your current subscription preferences.
