Kia Ora,

The last few weeks have been tough for Aucklanders, and we hope you and your loved ones have kept safe.

Our teams have been out on the cycle network checking for any blockages including slips and fallen trees and branches. Thankfully, most of the network is still ridable. See our website for information and updates.

As the weather settles and the sun returns, getting out for a ride or a walk is a great way to boost your mental and physical health. We have a range of activities and events to get you on your bike so why not grab a friend and go pedalling.

Aotearoa Bike Challenge 2023

Aotearoa Bike Challenge – it’s on!

There’s still time to register

We may be a couple of weeks into February, but there is plenty of time to join the Aotearoa Bike Challenge.

If you’ve already joined, set yourself a goal to get in as many rides as possible over the next couple of weeks.

What’s it all about?

Every year, people join with their friends, whānau, colleagues, and community to log the most rides and encourage others to ride too. Register today and you’ll be joining around 700 workplaces and nearly 7,000 individuals across Tāmaki Makaurau.

Some of last year’s riders told us why they take part:

“I feel like a kid again!” - Susan T.

“It gives me a sense of freedom” - Ellie C.

“It helps me keep fit, it’s a hobby I enjoy, and most importantly it is enviro-friendly” - Hesu S.

“My children love to ride their bikes so I’m going to start my journey” - Jodi T.

But, at the end of the day...

“It’s fun.” - Vanessa B

Te Matatini Festival is coming to Tāmaki Makaurau

Why don’t you come to Te Matatini Festival by paihikara or hīkoi?

Te Matatini

Te Matatini Festival is the Olympics of kapa haka and this year it’s happening right here in Tāmaki Makaurau. From 22-25 February, Eden Park will be buzzing with excitement as groups compete from all over Aotearoa and Australia.

Eden Park is only 700 meters away from the Northwestern Path. That’s just a 10 minute walk or a 5 minute bike ride away from a shared path that connects you to all sorts of places. Why not warm-up for these Olympics by walking, riding, or scooting to the venue and arrive ready for the action.
