Kia ora,

The Government announced that Auckland has moved back to Alert Level 3 for seven days, which commenced at 6am on Sunday 28 February.

What you need to know when using public transport during Alert Level 3

Public transport will continue to operate under strict health and safety requirements. Timetables will remain close to normal at this stage. There may be some adjustments to accommodate demand or to meet workforce limitations.

  • School buses will continue to operate to support the students of essential workers
  • Trains will run to a weekend timetable with some additional services in the mornings
  • There will be some reduced ferry sailings due to reduced demand
  • You must wear a face covering
  • You can board a bus using the front door
  • Remember to maintain 1 metre physical distancing
  • Scan the Ministry of Health’s COVID Tracer app QR code

Fares will continue to be charged throughout Alert Level 3, and cash will not be accepted - you must use your AT HOP card.

Continue to plan ahead using AT Mobile app, remembering the app shows how many people are on a bus or train service at any given time, so you can see whether physical distancing is achievable before you board.

Traffic, road works and construction sites

We will continue with planned road surfacing, repair and footpath works. Our construction sites will continue to operate under Ministry of Health guidelines.

Parking in AT carparks and on-street will continue as will the enforcement of parking restrictions, bus lanes and other special vehicle lanes.

Out and about in your neighbourhood

Now might be a good time to pump up the tyres on the bike and get to know your neighbourhood again if you haven’t been out for a ride lately.

If you need more help

During this time, we recommend customers use AT Mobile app to check your AT HOP card balance or our website to purchase a HOP card or check your card balance.

Our call centre remains open if you need further assistance and can be contacted on (09) 366 6400.

And thank you for your understanding and patience. We hope to see you soon.
