Kia ora and welcome to the last update on the Eastern Busway project for 2023. Learn about our hybrid excavator, improvements in the Pakūranga area, career opportunities and more.

Reducing emissions and fuel consumptionThere’s a ‘green machine’ in use on the project site. It’s a hybrid excavator which has a diesel engine and electric motors, meaning less fuel is used and fewer emissions are released into the environment.
It’s able to achieve that by regenerating electrical power, using engine-assist for power, having an ultra-low engine idle and using a smaller engine than a standard machine.

Improvements in the Pakūranga areaOur work will be paused during the upcoming holidays and will start again in early January.
Shops and businesses in the Pakūranga Plaza and the library nearby are open and looking forward to seeing you. With plenty of parking available, it’s an ideal location for your festive shopping, dining, reading and reviving.
