Improving local sports facilitiesWe’re working with Fencibles United and Auckland Council to improve the sports field in Riverhills Park. Some of the open space will be used to build a new Gossamer Station for the busway and in return, we’ll enhance the park for the local community.
The sports field will be modified, with a pitch being rotated and upgraded to include artificial turf and lights for training at night. A new path will wrap around the park giving the community a safe and pleasant walking route. The changes will ensure Fencibles United games can continue for years to come and the training capacity will increase from 10 to 40 hours a week.
The work is due to be completed in time for the start of the football season in February 2024.

Creating a greener futureA suburban house is among the items that we’ve gifted to make space for the Eastern Busway. We’ve donated the house to the Ara Education Charitable Trust to help school students prepare for careers in construction.
We’ve also recycled and given a new purpose to building materials and household effects, to help reduce waste and pollution. This video tells the story.
